VA Tech Wabag to set up waste water treatment plants in Zambia, wins ₹700 crore order

The exchanges were delivered major news on 27 December 2024 by VA Tech Wabag Ltd. about their vital order of a whopping 700 crore rupees for Zambia's Lusaka Water Supply and Sanitation Company. This order has finalized VA Tech Wabag's entry into the African continent, and they intend to expand their presence there.Their order has bagged multiple lateral funding from The European Investment Bank and The Kreditanstalt fur Wiederaufbau (KFW). After this order, the project will be executed in Zambia for around 36 months.
The project will take place in Chunga and Ngwerere, by executing the Engineering, Procurement, and Construction (EPC) of two advanced wastewater treatment plants of 54 Megalitres/Day and 19 Megalitres/Day in the above-mentioned cities.
The whole phase of EPC will have a span of 36 months which will then be followed by 2 years of Operation and Maintenance for examining its efficiency. Guhan Kandasamy, Head of Sales and Marketing(Africa)believes that this is one of Zambia's largest Sanitation projects with advanced technologies in recent years.
