The Indian stock market is giving good outflows from foreign portfolios to their investors in 2025. Asia is the 3rd largest economy and is fragile; there are many corporate earnings and domestic consumption, which shows how they recovered their investment.

On December 27, FPIs sold the Indian equity to the exchange or extended their selling for the sixth consecutive month for Rs 22,130 crore. This stock market cumulatively gives Rs 2,31,990 crore in outflows.

During this year, the primary market gave net buyers of FPIs and pumped Rs 73,583 crore. According to the inflows, the total worth of annual outflows is marked as Rs 158,407 crore as per record. In this year’s FPIs, net buyers are only three months, like April, May, or October. Go through the stock market basics to know about these things.

Trade deal delays, valuations, and the AI gap drive 2025

FPIs sell sharply in December, but in November it takes some slowdown, and market sentiment gets weak. That's why Indian rupees lost more than 6% of their value this year and are not performing well among Asian currencies. This weak rupee reduces the dollar value of FPI investments, and most foreign investors withdraw their investment and more stable returns.

In 2024, FIIs sold Rs 121210 crore through the exchange, and the year's total net value came to Rs 121637 crore through the primary market. In 2025, the trade deal with the US will stretch the value and explore the AI boom. After that, they recovered their investment by offering many attractive offers to the Asian markets, and FPIs got sharp selling. In 2024, India took the first major market from the US presidents; they announced it globally in the month of April. This strategy attracts investors and gets profit for both countries.

The final words

Overall, the Indian stock market gets sharp outflows from all types and different countries of investors, which impacts domestic inquiries and gains strength in its tenth straight year and gets support from domestic institutional investors (DIIs). DIIs buy Rs 64,056 crore in December. In 2025 on record, they request their retail investors and buy Rs 7.72 lakh crore in the domestic economy.
