Rajasthan Part I Power Transmission Limited has signed a significant contract with an alliance consisting of Bharat Heavy Electricals Limited and Hitachi Energy. Adani Energy Solutions Ltd owns the company and has partnered with this consortium to give energy to almost 60 million households.
Under this contract, this alliance will manufacture and deliver high-voltage direct current terminals (HVDC) to transfer the energy from Bhadla, Rajasthan, to Fatehpur, Uttar Pradesh. As per the official statement, these terminals will be able to power around 60 million homes in India.
It is expected that this project will be completed within the next four years. These HVDX will play an important part in the country’s mission of getting 500 GW of renewable energy by 2030. Also, they will ensure stability and good power flow control, which is important for BHEL’s objective of “Make in India.”
It has been the company’s fourth UHVDC transmission project as they previously had experience with lots of projects like Raigarh-Pulgalur, North-East Agra, and ongoing Khavda- Nagpur HVDC links. If we talk about this project, this alliance will involve supplying various equipment like Converter Transformers, Filter Bank Capacitors, Thyristor Valves, and Shunt Reactors from the Bengaluru and Bhopal plants.
The involvement of BHEL in the country’s HVDC projects has been going strong since the inception of this technology. Their leadership has played an important role in the transmission and power generation sectors.
On the other hand, it is the sixth order of Adani Solutions that has taken their order book to RS 57,561 crores. They also announced a share purchase agreement with RECPDCL to acquire 100% equity shares of MTL. It is widely anticipated that the company will soon become the leader of this industry at this pace.
